Changes to take place in January

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (November 13, 2024) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (“NASAA”) today announced important forthcoming changes in January 2025 to the Electronic Filing DepositoryTM (“EFD”). The changes include migration to the commercial cloud, a new system URL, and new system support contact information.

EFD is a one-stop filing resource for state securities filings. Members of the public can also use EFD to look up state filing information on securities offerings. Since its launch in 2014, EFD has processed over 1.7 million filings. The EFD platform currently accepts Form D, Form NF, franchise filings, and other filing types.

“The work to enhance EFD resiliency and operations is an important step in NASAA’s multi-year effort to update EFD. This work will benefit filers and regulators alike,” said NASAA President and Wisconsin Securities Administrator Leslie Van Buskirk.

While the features and functionalities of the migrated EFD will be virtually identical to those in place today, EFD users should be aware of the following important announcements and changes.

  • System Availability: In order accommodate the changeover to the commercial cloud, EFD will not be available between January 1 through January 5, 2025. If filings are due during those days, they must be submitted no later than midnight, Eastern Time, on December 31, 2024. The migrated EFD will begin accepting filings at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on January 6th.
  • New Website: The migrated EFD will be hosted on a new website at nasaaefd.org. EFD users should plan to make all filings and payments through the new website after December 31st. EFD filings and payments will no longer be accepted at the current website (efdnasaa.org) after December 31st.
  • New Support Contacts: After December 31st, EFD Support will have a new telephone number, a new email address, and will be hosted by a new support team. Beginning January 6th, you can reach EFD Support at 1-800-378-5007or support@nasaaefd.org. Support staff will be available to assist users between the hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (excluding national holidays). EFD users are also always welcome to contact NASAA with EFD-related questions at efd@nasaa.org.
  • Same usernames and passwords: The migrated EFD will maintain the same credentials as the old system. EFD users will not need to update or change credentials such as usernames and passwords.

The EFD Resources page on NASAA’s website will be kept up to date with all information related to the system migration.

“I appreciate all of the work that has gone into this effort to enhance EFD operations and look forward to further EFD developments” said William Beatty, Washington Securities Administrator and Chair of the NASAA EFD Steering Committee.
